WHAT IS DRIVEHER?
DriveHER is an alternative and safe ride-share service for women by women.
Be part of the movement, help provide alternative and safe rides for women. By creating alternatives for women, and girls we are decreasing the amount of violence caused by male drivers of other ride-share services. Just like you, all riders are women who put safety first. When you drive with us, you help HER get anywhere, anytime. Besides a safe ride from point A to B, DriveHER empowers other women to get behind the wheel, as the rideshare industry is dominated by men. If that’s not enough, be your own boss, make extra income. You’ve got the freedom and flexibility to drive with DriveHER.

1. What happens when a female passenger is with a male?
If the passenger’s male companion is travelling in the same direction but to a different destination, it is up to you (the driver) to decide to take them or refer them to another service (e.g. uber/taxi). However, you can only take these passengers if the male passenger is getting out before the end of the ride. For safety, the female passenger must be the last to exit the car.
2. Do we cater to transgender women and gender non conforming folks?
Yes, we do cater our services to transgender women. DriveHER is working towards making this service accessible to people who do not conform to a particular gender.
3. How much money will I make as a driver?
Your payout as a driver is dependent on how often you drive. However, you receive 75% of every fare you collect after the $0.30 city fee has been deducted.
4. Do we apply surge pricing?
We never apply surge pricing. Instead, during peak times, we apply a flat rate to keep fares affordable for our riders and worthwhile for our drivers.
5. When do I get paid?
Payments will be processed bi-weekly on Fridays.
6. Are DriveHER Drivers required to pay taxes?
Yes! As an independent contractor, you are required to pay your own taxes to Canada Revenue Agency. (DriveHER will organize tax clinics and workshops for our drivers to help understand tax implications).
7. What happens if I get a ticket while driving for DriveHER?
Drivers are required to drive responsibly at all times, with or without a passenger. In the case that a ticket is issued, DriveHER will conduct an internal investigation. DriveHER only covers tickets if there are no infractions on the driver’s part.
8. What if I am driving for another ride-sharing company?
That’s perfectly okay. In fact, we appreciate the extra experience! As an independent contractor, we respect your freedom and hold you to no obligation to drive exclusively with DriveHER.
9. What kind of insurance do I need to drive with DriveHER?
We are still working on our insurance coverage but there is good news. This coverage is designed specifically for ride-sharing companies so we will all be covered. You will not need to secure your own commercial insurance, which will save you each a great deal of money. Also, did we mention you will be able to receive tips?
10.What does it take to become a driver for DriveHER?
You must be 20 years of age or older, with a valid G license, a clean driving record and no criminal history. You’ll also need to pass a security screening and provide proof of insurance. You will need a four-passenger vehicle that is registered in your name, less than 7 years old and in good condition. Every car will undergo a rigorous safety check before hitting the road with DriveHER.
